Skyfall

For nearly 50 years, the world has recognized and adored the one number in action films: 007. Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the ongoing Bond legacy releases its 23rd film starring Daniel Craig as the superspy himself.
But this time, Bond faces his most dangerous challenge in the form of terrorist Raoul Silva, played respectively by Javier Bardem from No Country for Old Men.
But how does Raoul know so much about Mr. Bond? And what does this mean for London, MI6 and the world itself? And what are the motives of MI6's so-called "quartermaster" played by who else but Ralph Fiennes aka Amon Goeth from Schindler's List and Voldemort from Harry Potter.

Fortunately, the inventions wizard Q is on hand, played by Ben Whinshaw from this year's Cloud Atlas. If possible, Q may utter those three words from the original films: "Payattention,007."

And of course, the distinguished Judi Dench is on the set as MI6's no-nonsense boss M. Again, she plays a central role, much like the Pierce Brosnan Bond flick The World is Not Enough: meaning M is targeted. Hmmmm, there may be a connection between M and Raoul?

And,as a psychologist, who better to play the role than veteran British actor Albert Finney; recognized from the Bourne trilogy and as Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot in 1974's Murder on the Orient Express.

Featuring cutting-edge visual effects and loads of cool cars and gadgets, and-- the title song is sung by who else but Adele!

Skyfall opens next Friday at theaters nationwide.

Alex Cross

For years, author James Patterson has entertained book fans around the globe with novels that capture our imagination and gets us on the edge of our seat. Now one of his best book series is now a major motion picture,Alex Cross starring popular actor Tyler Perry, known by all film audiences as the cantankerous, take-charge Madea, French veteran actor Jean Reno from The Da Vinci Code and the Pink Panther films with Steve Martin, and Matthew Fox from TV's acclaimed drama Lost.

Set in New York in the present day, this captivating mystery thriller tells the story of criminal psychologist Alex Cross (Perry), a mild-mannered man with a loving wife and a peaceful life, all that are threatened by a psychopathic killer (Fox) who shows no mercy in killing and does it for pleasure. Cross is at first skeptical of this madman, but when the criminal targets Cross' wife...all hell breaks loose.

Determined to catch the maniac before anymore people are hurt, Cross uses all his psychological expertise and crime-solving techniques to find clues to the killer's targets. But with stakes getting higher and danger lurking over the city, Cross will have to face the madman in an explosive confrontation where it becomes clear that only ONE will walk out.

Featuring dynamic filming and special effects, thanks to the director of the film Rob Cohen, whose previous projects were the 1996 epic DragonHeart and of course, the Fast and the Furious trilogy. Also starring in the film is Rachel Nichols from GI Joe: Rise of Cobra, veteran actress Cicely Tyson, John C. McGinley from TV's Scrubs and the original Wall Street film from 1987 and Giancarlo Esposito from TV's hottest drama Revolution. Alex Cross is now open in local theaters.

Also in filming is Patterson's Maximum Ride series. Word of casting and production is unknown or to be announced.

The First British Superman!

For as long as moviegoers can remember, Superman, the most legendary superhero has wowed and thrilled comic book, TV and film audiences for years. The suit has been worn by many talented actors: George Reeves to the iconic original Christopher Reeve, to Tom Welling in TV's critically-acclaimed series Smallville, and to Brandon Routh (Superman Returns)

Now, for the FIRST time in the Man of Steel's legacy, British actor Henry Cavill, star of last year's blockbuster fantasy epic Immortals...is next in line for the role as Metropolis' greatest champion. The film has been fittingly titled "MAN OF STEEL". And with music composed by legendary composer Hans Zimmer (composer for Pirates of the Caribbean and the Lion King) and a major ensemble cast that includes Laurence "Morpheus" Fishburne from the Matrix as the first African-American version of Daily Planet editor Perry White, screen legends Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Superman's loving adoptive parents Jonathan and Martha Kent, Michael Shannon, having worked with DC in "Jonah Hex" stars as the merciless General Zod, Amy Adams as the new Lois Lane, Superman's true love, and as Superman's father Jor-El, who else but Russell Crowe (Gladiator, Robin Hood). It does indeed look like an epic film

However, there is one major shock: the director helming the film is Zack Snyder, who made a name for himself for directing the notorious film adaptation of Watchmen, Sucker Punch, and gained fame for directing 300. After witnessing Snyder's style demonstrated in Watchmen, audiences have one question: Is this film going to be the same as Christopher Reeve...or in the dark, garish, neo-noir type like Watchmen? Fortunately, Christopher Nolan, mastermind of blockbuster films like Inception and of course the Dark Knight Trilogy. Nolan, of course, serves as producer of the film, probably an excellent position so he can keep an eye on Snyder so to limit the gruesome fighting scenes to a more age-appropriate audience.

Man of Steel flies back onto the big screen summer 2013. And if you look up in the sky, maybe, JUST MAYBE, you could see a man fly.

Iron Man 3

It's been a while since Marvel movie fans saw wise-cracking armored adventurer Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.) soar to new heights in this year's popular Avengers film.

However...However, something's been troubling Stark. He's grown paranoid, fearful of his prized technology that he himself created as seen in the first film. Unfortunately, that paranoia has become a hellish reality, in the form of a sociopathic terrorist leader known only as "Mandarin". And it comes as no surprise to film lovers, that this character is portrayed on film by the distinguished Sir Ben Kingsley (Gandhi, Shutter Island). And judging to his character persona, Kingsley seems to be the perfect choice to star as Iron Man's newest and most DANGEROUS enemy in the history of Marvel Comics.

With his technology stolen, his Iron Man suits destroyed, his secretary/love interest Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) taken captive by this deranged warmonger and a deadly technological virus constructed by a ruthless businessman named Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce) who is POSSIBLY in cahoots with Mandarin. In short, all HELL has broken loose.

But Iron Man can stop it...or CAN he? Fortunately, to the relief of film audiences, Stark's partner Rhodes/War Machine (Don Cheadle) is on hand to help out. And so begins an explosive struggle as Stark tries to save his beloved industry and world all while contemplating on a MAJOR question: Does the man fit the suit, or does the SUIT fit the MAN

Find out May 3, 2013. Be warned: This film develops more of a serious tone (in the style of The Dark Knight Rises), added with intense violence, unsettling images and moments. Has Iron Man met his match? Can Stark WIN?

OF COURSE!!!! He's beaten the Iron Monger, Whiplash, hell, he even flew through and demolioshed a giant alien war machine in the Avengers. As they say, 3 times the charm. Marvel heroes ALWAYS win!!!

Die Hard 5

Over the past few years, Bruce Willis has continued to amaze audiences around the world with his dynamic film performances, from comedies like this year's Moonrise Kingdom and recent ones like Cop Out and Red, to action and science fiction films like Surrogates, the Expendables, and most recently, the new time-travel film Looper.

But with a new GI Joe film in development in which Willis is scheduled to star in; he decided to return to the one film series that started his famous career... You guessed it, Die Hard.

Willis stars once again as famous cop John McClane, yet again at the wrong place at the wrong time, only in THIS film, he finds himself in the middle of a huge terrorist prison break/war that can only be located in the most imperialistic country in the world- Russia! And to make matters either worse or exciting, McClane's KIDS are helping him in the film. Yes, that's right. Jack and Lucy McClane, first seen as youths in the first film are all grown up and following in their pappy's footsteps. Now THAT would be a bit of exciting for the audiences and McClane, but as usual, worse for the baddies. Hmm, sounds like a reference to Indiana Jones 4, eh? Oh and there's something else: "Jack" is NOT his son's real name. No sir, it's REALLY John McClane, JUNIOR!
Like I said, following in his footsteps.

Of course, the production/filming staff went to a LOT of trouble to set up the film's title and supporting cast. And also, the role for John McClane Jr was tried for by like a few teen actors, who nevertheless, were turned down. The role, however, went to a up-and-coming actor named Jai Courtney. As for Lucy, Mary Elizabeth Winstead takes stage again (due to her major role in Die Hard 4 in 2007). And as in the fourth film, I think Miss Lucy may have a more central part. I mean, to be fair, she is seen in the trailer driving a MOTORCYCLE and wearing a SKIN-TIGHT LEATHER outfit (Hmm, Tomb Raider or Underworld reference? Eh, who cares, its an awesome costume).

Now we come to the role of of course the main enemy of the movie. Now let me just add that several stars were competing for the role. Among them was (believe it or not) Patrick Stewart from Star Trek: TNG and the original X-Men film trilogy. Now come ON, since when the heck would Stewart play a bad guy? Well...apart from his roles in Conspiracy Theory, Mastermind, and Macbeth (the BBC TV version), you'd think that would be fit for his acting style. But... to everyone's surprise, the role went to Cole Hauser (If you don't remember the name, he was in the Riddick films and video game, so yeah, I think that name would ring a bell. Come on, the guy worked with VIN DIESEL, for cryin out loud!) So, with that detail being said, the film is loaded with special effects, epic music that's perfect for fight and explosion scenes, some suspense, a bit of driving-like-crazy chase moments...and last but TOTALLY NOT least, Mr. Willis's famed catchphrase "Yippee-ki-yay!"

Die Hard 5 is scheduled to make one EXPLOSIVE comeback on February 14, 2013 aka Valentine's Day. So, to all action movie dudes, if your date is a huge Bruce Willis fan and likes movie dates, then this film would be considered the ULTIMATE Valentine's Day gift.
