The Great Gatsby

For as long as the world can remember, F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic story The Great Gatsby has won over millions of readers and has been made into two successful films. But now, it's back and more stronger than ever, thanks to master storyteller Baz Luhrmann

Set in New York City in 1922, the story starts with a traveler named Nick Carraway (played by Spider-Man star Tobey Maguire) who is en route to visit old family pals, hot-headed, arrogant Tom Buchanan (played, respectively by Joel Edgerton) and his sultry, flirtatious wife Daisy (Carey Mulligan) who seems to have once been romantically intimate with Gatsby himself

And who better to play Gatsby than Hollywood megastar Leo DiCaprio, who had indeed worked with Luhrmann in Romeo + Juliet. 
In the plot, Daisy remains completely out of touch with remembering or seeing any of Gatsby, until when out of nowhere, the two star-gazed lovers finally come face to face

Unfortunately, bad boy Tom discovers Daisy's relationship with Gatsby, and our hero Nick isn't the only one with problems as he finds himself being haggled by a shrewd, manipulative housewife (played electrifyingly by Isla Fisher)

In such a story of love, compromise, deception, betrayal, sex, greed and that the past has a very beautiful but nevertheless unspeakable way of repeating itself. As Gatsby quoted from this film "Change the past?" Well? Does he think anyone can rewrite history? Can he ever rekindle his relationship with Daisy? And more importantly: Why does Nick think Gatsby maybe might have something *else* he'd like to keep secret. All these questions, and never-before-seen facts will soon be unveiled May 10, this Friday at your local theatre. If you're looking for a good flick on Mother's Day, then this is an invitation you simply cant refuse
