2 Guns

Ever wonder what it would be like if multiple Academy Award winning superstar Denzel Washington teamed with Mark Wahlberg in an action-packed buddy film a' la Lethal Weapon together?
Here's the result in this summer's newest action comedy aptly named 2 Guns, which ironically, happens to be the title of a popular graphic novel series. Anyway, here's the plot: It tells the double careers of undercover Naval agent Bobby Stig (Denzel, same charm, same charisma, new sense of humor) and DEA agent Marcus Stigman (Wahlberg) have been performing some high-profile jobs for a ruthless Mob organization. However, all heck breaks loose when Bobby and Marcus' covers are blown
It is apparent, that someone has set our two heroes up. Now with their identities- AND their lives at risk, Bobby and Marcus begin a jam-packed, rough-riding, and laugh-filled blitzkreig in order to find who betrayed them and get even with the Mob with their own taste of medicine.
Featuring Paula Patton from Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol as Denzel's love interest, Bill Paxton as a psychotic gangster, veteran actor Edward James Olmos of Battlestar Galactica and Blade Runner fame, and Fred Ward from Naked Gun 3 The Final Insult. 2 Guns blasts into theaters nationwide August 2nd. Trust me, it's an invitation you simply CAN't refuse

RIPD

In the tradition of Men in Black and Ghostbusters, a new supernatural action-comedy is about to be added to that tradition. You may ask, what would the film title be? Well, here's the answer: RIPD or Rest in Peace Department, for short.
Based on a bestselling comic series from Dark Horse Publishing, this new fantasy laugh-fest tells the tale of everyday police officer Nick Walker (Ryan Reynolds) whom is killed in an ordinary police bust, only to be instantly transported to RIPD department, which would be, natch, up in the skies.
Now recruited by dry-humuored RIPD boss Proctor (the ever-sexy Mary Louise-Parker), Walker is tasked with one-executing ghoulish thugs that terrorize the living and most importantly, find and kill the guy who shot him. Fortunately, he's not the ONLY RIPD officer, as who better to have the top billing in this film but Jeff Bridges! Not to mention, he reprises his Rooster Cogburn version again, minus the eyepatch
Of course, since being a typical sci-fi film, it just wouldnt be complete without a little apocalyptic situation, as in when the entire legion of monsters start taking over the human world, it's up to Nick and Roy (Bridges) to start some literal EPIC ass-kicking moves... and not to mention mopping up the mess afterwards with using the goons' body parts as a mop. (Just kidding. It's PG-13) Also appearing is Kevin Bacon as possibly the man who's responsible for Nick's situation, Marisa Miller (Yep, the sexy blonde model) as get this, Roy's avatar!? Don't believe me? Take a gander:
Believe it or not, having Marisa Miller perform an 'undercover' version of Bridges is guaranteed for some rather loud laughs. RIPD bursts into your local theatre next Friday, July 19th. If you see it, be warned: You just might laugh yourself silly!
